HEALTH SCHOLARS PROGRAM
Overview The Health Scholars program started as a partnership between Mentoring in Medicine & Science, EMS Corps and Oakland Technical High School with funding provided by the Alameda County Health Pipeline Partnership. The pilot program originally engaged only 9th grade Young Men of Color at Oakland Technical High School but has expanded to include co-ed cohorts at Dewey Academy, Arise High School and Richmond High School. The program exposes participants to a breadth of health careers and opportunities while providing them with clinical exposure and resources that equip them to be better scholars.
