As we wrap up 2024, we want to share a few important updates with our MIMS community. Our work to provide quality mentorship, career exposure and leadership development opportunities to young people who are underrepresented in the health workforce continues to grow.

In 2020 MIMS has had a transformative year, adapting to challenges while continuing to uplift aspiring health professionals. This newsletter highlights our pivot to virtual mentorship, interactive webinars, and expanded mental health support—meeting students where they are. Despite the pandemic, our Summer Internship thrived, offering hands-on experiences and career exposure to a diverse group of participants.

In this issue of our newsletter you will find information about our “Ask a Health Professional” feature, #GivingTuesday, and our very successful Clinical Immersion and Mentoring Summer Internship. Additionally, we take the time to give special thanks to our mentors, funders and partners. We highlight one of our amazing alumni and introduce you to our new Mentoring in Medicine & Science interns.
